Panel 1: In
the long title panel of this colour comic, Marie, Casey, and Barbara
sit side by side on a couch in the Davies common room. The garden can
be seen through the window behind them. Marie is reading a newspaper;
the only visible text on it is "THINK FAST...." Casey is looking down
towards his pocket, which hold a phone that is currently ringing.
Barbara is reading a book. A lamp on the table next to Marie has the
words "WEST OF BATHURST" on its yellow shade and "by Kari Maaren" in
cursive on its dark brown base.
Panel 2: Casey is speaking into his phone, which is one of the clunky ones a lot of people had in 2006.
Casey: 'Lo?...Oh, hi, Mom. No...nothing much.
Panel 3: Marie looks sidelong at Casey.
Casey: Uh-huh. Uh-huh...really? No, he knows I can't...okay, try him with the eagle. Yeah...the big one.
Panel 4: Marie turns towards Casey.
Casey: Well, I understand, but...twenty million? That's ridiculous. Plant them over by the bone-pile. No, don't tell Nico. Try to get the chains off him first, though.
Panel 5: Marie is full-on staring at Casey now.
Casey: Mom, I've told you to watch out for the tentacles. Yeah, that's right: Windex. Twice a day. There should be extra sulphur in the shed.
Panel 6:
Casey: Got all that? Good. Love you too...bye.
Panel 7: Casey leaves while Marie watches him dubiously.
Panel 8: Marie turns to Barbara, who is still reading.
Marie: All right, I'll admit that that was really freaking strange, but I still don't think he's Satan.
Barbara: Uh-huh.
Alt-Text: I have heard weirder one-sided phone conversations. Yes, I have.
