Panel 1: In
the Davies quadrangle, during the end-of-year barbecue, Marie kneels on
the pavement next to the pond and holds out a hand to Casey, who is
still in the water.
Marie: Casey...give me your hand...give--
Casey: I can do it myself.
Panel 2: Casey
is out of the pond, though still dripping. Junior Fellows watch from a
distance as Frankie, holding Casey's shoe, comes up beside Marie.
Frankie: Here's your--
Casey: Leave me alone. Just...all of you go away.
Panel 3:
Marie: But--
Casey: No. You want to talk about it. I don't want to talk about it. Go annoy someone else, Marie!
Panel 4: Casey,
still sans shoe, marches away across the quad as people stare. Rahim
puts an arm around Marie's shoulders. Barbara and Morgan are standing
side by side.
Morgan: What a great day for friendship this always is.
Barbara: Did I invite you to speak to me?
