The real and actual person joining the real and actual me in today's comic is my friend Andrew House, who earned his place here by being one of the first people to check out WoB and absolutely the first person to encourage me to continue it. Plus I'd never drawn him before, and this seemed like a good opportunity. House's "What Would Batman Do?" shirt (yes, non-Masseyites, we really do call him "House") is a real one, designed by the creator of Doctor McNinja, Chris Hastings, and appearing here with his permission. If you would like to meet Mr. Hastings and tell him that his shirt is awesome, you should know that he will be in Toronto on August 18-19 for the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, this year held at Victoria College. |

Panel 1: In
this special colour anniversary panel, a white man with brown hair and
a bit of scraggly facial hair, who is wearing a "What would Batman do?"
T-shirt, stands next to a brown-haired white woman who is holding and
drawing on a tablet. The man is Kari's friend House, and the woman is
Kari. House: So by introducing the "July eighteenth" story, you have ensured that your comic's anniversary will coincide with its most depressing plotline every single year. Kari: Oh, shut up. Alt-Text: Well, in this sort of situation, Batman would probably just run screaming from the room. 'Cause he's Batman. He doesn't have to deal with that kind of stuff. Go to commentary |
