Okay. Here's the thing:

A wandering Masseyite has just (and I do mean just) informed me that one of the Massey porters has recently resigned and will soon be replaced. I would like to note, officially, that I drew the Kenneth comics before Christmas and had absolutely no idea that I was going to be appearing all psychic and stuff again. These comics do not apply to the real new porter (whoever that may be) in any way at all. They also do not apply to the outgoing porter, a truly nice guy, or the ongoing porter, who is awesome and once saved someone's life during lunch.

I'm not going to say anything about how Kenneth will be portrayed in the future (first impressions are sometimes correct and sometimes not, and I don't want to be hinting too strongly in one direction or the other regarding this character)...but the Kenneth who is gradually emerging this week is a grumpy, grumpy man. I just wanted everyone to know that I did not think any current Massey porter was a grumpy, grumpy man or, in fact, a grumpy, grumpy woman.

One of the problems that goes along with this comic strip is that it is often a little bit too close to life for comfort, even when it isn't really supposed to be.

Panel 1: Marie and Casey are hiding behind a brick wall in the Davies College quadrangle. Marie peeks out past it.

Casey: New porter...?

Marie: His name's Kenneth. I think he may be evil.

Panel 2:

Marie: He started a couple of days ago, so I've had time to...wait a minute...

Panel 3: Marie begins to herd Casey away.

Marie: He knows we're still here! He's coming to confront us! Go! Go! Go!

Panel 4: Marie hangs onto Casey's arm as they hurry across the quadrangle.

Casey: You have got to tell me about this guy.

Marie: Maybe later, if we survive.

Alt-Text: If you go out in the quad today, you're in for a big surprise...
