In honour of the Hallowe'en banner, I hereby provide a link to
the greatest Twilight
parody of all time. In Middle English. Sparklie
vampyres, dudes. Sparklie
vampyres. Okay, maybe it's not the greatest, but I am a medievalist, and I think it is awesome. |

Hallowe'en Header: In the 2009 Hallowe'en header, two characters who are pretty clearly Edward and Bella from the Twilight series are cuddling sulkily. Bella glances towards an approaching mob. In the mob, we have Marie holding a stake, Barbara wielding a torch, Baldwin brandishing a crucifix, Rahim just sort of standing there being Rahim, Frankie waving a crossbow, Wendy clutching some holy water, and Casey glancing backwards at Steve, who has a sword, and Kenneth the porter, who is carrying a handgun. The title, in font reminiscent of that used in Twilight, reads: "west of bathurst: repudiating sparkly vampires since 2006." Panel 1: Marie and Rahim are sitting on the couch in Marie's favourite basement nook at Davies College. Marie is working on her laptop while Rahim reads a book. Panel 2: Sara runs past. Panel 3: Wendy pursues Sara. Wendy: Wait! Hallowe'en is coming! It's practically here! We must find you an embarrassingly revealing costume with built-in sound effects! Come back! Panel 4: Marie: It is not good that the shyest person at Davies has somehow become Wendy's latest project. Rahim: If it didn't involve contact with Wendy, I would rescue Sara right now. Alt-Text: You will never escape the Wendy. The Wendy will find you, and SHE WILL EAT YOUR SOUL! There will be ice cream for dessert. Go to commentary |
