Panel 1: In
the title panel of this Sunday-style colour comic, Barbara glares at a
student essay. We can also see the title page of an oversized essay,
which reads: "Shakespeare Did Not Write His Plays: A Proof." The words
"West of Bathurst?" and "by Kari Maaren" are written on the title page
in red ink. Barbara: You've got to be freaking kidding me. Panel 2: Barbara leans over a table, holding her head and staring at the paper she's marking. Barbara: Oh God. That's just...what the hell? Panel 3: Barbara: Semi-colon fault. Semi-colon fault. Semi-colon fault. I shall smite you. Panel 4: Barbara: Are you analysing the text? Of course not! What's stopping you? Nothing! Panel 5: Barbara stands up and brandishes her fist at the paper. Barbara: I don't care that the story's unrealistic, and you shouldn't either. Panel 6: Barbara violently shakes the paper while scrunching it in her hand. Barbara: That's stupid! You're stupid! I have taught you nothing! Go destroy someone else's life, you pustule! Panel 7: Marie stares at Barbara, who is slumped in her chair, the mangled paper on the table before her. Marie: Feeling better? Barbara: I will be once you've found me a shredder and some matches. Alt-Text: When I am marking, I sometimes yell at the papers rather loudly. This can be a problem when I'm marking in public. Go to commentary |
