Panel 1: In
the title panel of this Sunday-style colour comic, Casey and Marie, wet
and swathed in blankets, are sitting on the couch in Marie's favourite
basement nook at Davies College, looking at each other sidelong. Around
the corner, Rahim approaches Barbara. Two pieces of paper taped to the
wall read, respectively, "West of Bathurst" (pointing to Casey) and "by
Kari Maaren" (pointing to Marie).
Panel 2: Rahim and Barbara walk together through the basement, past the study carrels.
Barbara: Marie and Casey are clearing the air?
Rahim: Yes.
Panel 3:
Barbara: And you're all right with this?
Rahim: Yes.
Barbara: Really?
Rahim: Yes.
Panel 4: She stops and faces him.
Barbara: Really?
Panel 5: Rahim crouches, clutching his head. Barbara kneels beside him.
Rahim: Why do I dislike him so much? I never used to.
Barbara: Is it because you like M--
Panel 6:
Rahim [angrily]: No. It's all him. He's hiding something or lying about something or...and I just want to punch him in the face.
Panel 7: Barbara pulls a crumbling cookie out of her pocket.
Barbara: Be careful if you do; he possesses hideous infernal powers. In the meantime, here's a cookie.
Rahim: I wish I knew why your wackiness was so comforting.
Alt-Text: Wackiness is often comforting, just like cheesecake and the collected works of Geoffrey Chaucer.
