Note of Interest: this is actually what the U of T Ph.D. gown looks like. You can see the real thing here. |

Panel 1: Barbara,
Casey, and a lot of other Ph.D. graduates are milling around in their
academic gowns before the ceremony. Casey and Barbara are approached by
a young woman. Woman 1: Barbara! What are you doing here? Panel 2: Now a man wanders up. Man: Barbara...I thought you must have convocated years ago. Panel 3: Aaaand another woman. Woman 2: Barbara? You...you were my TA in 2002. Panel 4: Barbara glowers in an exceedingly jaded manner as Casey smirks. Casey: Think of yourself as "experienced." Voice From Off Panel: Hey, look, it's Barbara! I can't believe she's not dead yet. Alt-Text: When you take eight years to complete your Ph.D., convocation can make you feel a teeny bit obsolete. Go to commentary |
