Panel 1: In
the title panel of this Sunday-style colour comic, a young woman blows
on a blue vuvuzela labelled "WEST OF BATHURST BY KARI MAAREN."
Panel 2: Casey and Marie are standing at a bus stop.
Panel 3: A
man wearing the colours of the Dutch flag and with his face painted
those same colours approaches. He is also carrying a Dutch flag. A
happy woman is behind him.
Panel 4: More
ecstatic people in Dutch colours appear. A shirtless man blows a
vuvuzela. Another man has dyed his beard. A woman dances in the street.
Panel 5: Someone throws a soccer ball. A man and woman embrace. There's another vuvuzela now. Everyone is extremely happy.
Panel 6: As the shirtless man continues to blow his vuvuzela, a woman lifts up her shirt, exposing the Dutch flag on her stomach.
Panel 7: The Dutch soccer fans have moved on.
Marie: It will be different here when the World Cup is over.
Casey: The what?
Alt-Text:
I would actually quite like to own a vuvuzela. I mean, you've got this
two-foot-long plastic horn capable of rupturing eardrums. What's not to
like?
