Panel 1: In
the title panel of this Sunday-style colour comic, a young white man
with brown hair, dressed in a pink shirt and tie and grey slacks, is
signing "Dance?" in ASL. Marie, wearing a trench coat, signs "What?"
They are communicating like this because VERY LOUD MUSIC is playing, as
evidenced by the giant musical notes appearing behind them. The words
"WEST OF BATHURST BY KARI MAAREN" are also screaming across the panel.
Panel 2: The
young man from the first panel, Marie, and Baldwin are all sitting on a
couch at the Davies Winter Ball. Extremely loud music is playing.
Man [screams]: Do you want to dance?
Marie [screams]: What?
Panel 3:
Man [screams]: Dance. Want to?
Marie [screams]: Sorry, what?
Panel 4:
Man [screams]: Dance. Dance!
Marie [screams while cupping her ear]: I can't hear you!
Panel 5: The man kneels on the couch and shrieks desperately into Marie's face.
Man: Do. You. Want. To. DANCE?
Panel 6:
Marie [screams]: Oh!
Panel 7:
Marie [screams]: No, I don't.
Baldwin [screams, completely obliviously]: Do you want to dance?
