Panel 1: Marie
and Nico are standing beside Marie's futon, which Casey is lying on,
though he's not really taking in anything anyone is saying.
Marie: Then there's the illogical explanation: Barbara's been right all along, and Casey is the devil.
Panel 2:
Marie:
The deals have souls as stakes. Casey gets to spend the duration of
each deal on earth but is sent back to Hell until the next one begins.
With each deal, he starts a new life.
Panel 3:
Marie: But this time, he remembered too much about last time. The problem wasn't that he'd lost his memory; it was that he hadn't lost it. Now he's got it back. All of it. And there's just too much to remember.
Panel 4:
Marie: Anything? A twitch of confirmation? No?
Nico [points at Casey]: I've beat him at poker.
Alt-Text: I've got a theory: some kid is dreaming, and we're all trapped inside his wacky Broadway nightmare...
