Panel 1: In
the title panel of this Sunday-style colour comic, Marie and Casey sit
against a tree. Marie, dressed in shorts and a tank top, is hot and
sweating. Casey, in pants and a long-sleeved shirt, is happily drinking
a cup of coffee. In the sky, the clouds read "West of Bathurst." The
words "by Kari Maaren" are just above the grass.
Panel 2: Marie and Casey are lying on their backs in the grass.
Marie: Stupid weather.
Casey: Would you like me to have a word with it?
Panel 3: They both sit up.
Marie: Would I...what?
Casey: It's no trouble. Hey, unseasonable warmth! Yeah, I mean you.
Panel 4:
Casey: Well, no, you’re not bothering me, but my friend doesn’t like you. How should I know? She’s sensitive.
Panel 5:
Casey: I know it’s not your fault. I…don’t sulk. Not everyone’s going to like you all the time. There’s no need to get snippy about it.
Panel 6: It begins to pour rain.
Panel 7:
Casey: I may have been overly blunt there.
Marie [crawls away]: If you’ll excuse me, I need to go find something boring and logical to do for the rest of my life.
Alt-Text: Hey...the weather reacts that way when *I* talk to it.
