Panel 1: In
the title panel of this Sunday-style colour comic, Marie and Evil Marie
stand back to back in the darkness. Marie looks apprehensive and Evil
Marie jaded. The words "West of Bathurst" appear on the left side of
the panel and "by Kari Maaren" on the right.
Panel 2: Marie and Evil Marie walk down a dark street together.
Evil Marie: What a great way to spend Christmas Eve.
Marie: Actually, I think it's Christmas by now.
Panel 3:
Evil Marie: Even better.
Marie: That barista--Sharon--said something about "the cute one" and "the chubby one." The chubby one...
Panel 4: Marie pulls out Casey's phone.
Marie: I have the strangest feeling I know...oh, look whose number's programmed into Casey's magic phone.
Panel 5: Marie speaks on the phone.
Marie: Nico.
Nico [on phone, shouting]: What? Who's there? You'll have to speak up; the wind is interfering!
Panel 6: Marie and Evil Marie stare at the phone.
Nico [on phone, shouting]:
No! Southwest! I told you before! Stop waving those things around like
that! If you fall out, I'm leaving you here until next year!
Panel 7:
Marie: The weirdness is happening again.
Evil Marie: Merry Christmas, everyone!
Alt-Text: Weirdness is admittedly a pretty good Christmas tradition.
