Friday, August 9, 2013 Panel 1: Marie and Barbara are sitting on the couch in the Davies College basement nook. Rahim and Casey approach. Marie [crying]: You. Panel 2: She jumps up and heads for Casey. Marie: What did you do? Ten years! Did we meet ten years ago? Have you been lying this whole time? Panel 3: Casey: I...don't know. Panel 4: Both Marie and Casey collapse onto the couch to be miserable separately. Barbara: Now everybody needs a hug. Rahim: Including me. Saturday's comic is here...on Friday night.  Therefore, everybody who guessed "4" in Summer Contest #7 must be cast out into the cold and desolate darkness.  This narrows the field considerably. Nobilis, Erwaro, Preethi, and Earthgirl, thanks for playing.  I should also mention that I missed Dances With Fish when I listed the "3"s yesterday.  I have added DWF to yesterday's list.  Sorry about that; it's sometimes easy to miss guesses amidst the massive paragraphs you guys tend to post.

We're down to only a few contenders, any of whom could walk off with the prize.  Don't forget that the colour comic is coming up tomorrow, and that may set me back.  We shall see.  Our last few remaining contestants are as follows:

Stickler for "6": Lumair

Supporter of "7":  Tuxgeo

Everybody but Lumair is eligible to win 3 points; Lumair is eligible to win 2.

I am actually quite glad that those of you who apparently have the most faith in me are the last four standing, though admittedly, most of you cited other justifications for your choices.  5 is Rebecca's son's favourite number.  6 is Lumair's favourite number.  Tuxgeo calls 7 an "impossible" guess but notes that it's an important number in WoB.  Only Lore Hera has simply stated her number and fallen silent.

Panel 1: In the Davies College basement nook, Marie glares at Barbara and Rahim. Casey is there too, out of sight.

Marie: I need to talk to Casey alone.

Rahim: I'm not sure that's a good--

Panel 2:

Marie [screaming extremely loudly]: I need to talk to Casey alone NOW!

Panel 3: Without a word, Rahim and Barbara turn and walk away.

Panel 4:

Rahim: That may be the first time Marie has ever actually terrified me.

Barbara: I wish I could do that voice; it'd be great in the classroom.

Alt-Text: Sometimes, you have to use the terrifying voice, though when you're using it on that one student you've caught using her cell phone under her desk for the third time in an hour, it doesn't work.
