Panel 1: In the title panel of this Sunday-style colour comic, Marie finds a red envelope on her dining-room table. On the wall behind her are the words "West of Bathurst by Kari Maaren."

Panel 2: Marie opens the envelope and finds a Christmas card with a snowman on the front. She opens and reads the card.

Card:
Dear Marie:

Panel 3:

Card: I know we've been having some problems lately, but I just want you to know how much I appreciate all you've done for me.

Panel 4: Still reading, Marie moves into her living room.

Card: It can't have been easy to deal with me turning up on your doorstep like that. You've never been less than patient and understanding.

Panel 5: Marie sits down on her futon and wipes away a tear.

Card: I don't know what's going to happen now, but one of the reasons I've been so angry is that I don't want to stop being your friend. I would give anything to prevent that from happening.

Panel 6:

Card: In completely unrelated news, pays no attention to the sounds coming from under the bathroom sink. They aren't at all important. Yours, Casey.

Panel 7: Marie massages her forehead.

Card: P.S.: Seriously, don't look under the sink.

Alt-Text: Apparently, Casey is incapable simply of writing a nice heartfelt Christmas card.  I guess that's not really a surprise.
