Panel 1: In
the Davies common room, Barbara and Marie, both in robes, stand near
the windows that look out on the garden. In the distance, the Davies
bell rings ("Bong...bong...").
Barbara: Every night, at six thirty, the Davies bell rings exactly six and a half times.
Panel 2:
Barbara: Every night, we obey the bell and traipse, zombie-like, up the stairs to dinner.
Panel 3: Barbara seizes Marie by the collar.
Barbara: Every night! Every...freaking...night!
Panel 4: All
the Davies Junior Fellows begin to move out of the common room towards
the staircase up to the hall. Marie and Rahim are side by side. Behind
them, Barbara can be seen haranguing another student.
Marie: It's the beginning of September. What is she like in May?
Rahim [smiles]: Yooou'll fiiind ooouut...
