Panel 1: In
the title panel of this colour comic, we see Marie and Casey standing
together on the far right of the panel. They're wearing their dinner
robes. Marie is looking at something off to the left, and a straight
dotted line denotes the direction of her gaze. Above the line are the
words "WEST OF BATHURST"; below it are the words "BY KARI MAAREN."
Marie: Oooh...!
Panel 2: Casey
and Marie stand in the Davies common room after dinner. Other diners
are milling around as well. Marie grabs Casey by the arm.
Marie: Casey...it's Peggy Engrove!
Casey: Who? Oh...
Panel 3:
Casey: You mean that woman who writes all those huge gloomy novels with no quotation marks and puns in the chapter headings?
Marie: Nobody said she would be here tonight!
Panel 4:
Casey: I didn't know you were a fan.
Marie: I'm not.
Panel 5:
Casey: Or that you had read any of her books at all...
Marie: I haven't. Look...she's coming this way!
Panel 6: Marie
and Casey watch as Peggy Engrove, who is so short that all we can see
of her in the panel is the top of her curly grey head, walks by.
Panel 7: Marie is still gazing after Peggy Engrove, who has moved on.
Marie: She's taller than I expected.
Casey: Gosh...fancy that.
Alt-Text: Universal acclaim to whoever figures out who "Peggy Engrove" is (it shouldn't be hard)...
