Panel 1: Barbara
and Marie are standing beside a table. Barbara's backpack is on the
table; she also has a shoulder bag. She takes a sheaf of paper out of
the packpack.
Panel 2: There are three piles of paper on the table. Barbara removes a fourth from her shoulder bag and digs for a fifth.
Panel 3: The table is covered with paper. Barbara holds two more stacks.
Panel 4: Barbara and Marie stare at the nightmarish wasteland of paper mounds.
Barbara: Applications for all the sessional teaching jobs I'm not going to get.
Marie: I see.
Alt-Text:
You know the really, really, really terrible thing? This is not an
exaggeration at all. Sessional job applications are responsible for the
destructions of more rainforests than MacMillan Bloedel. Yes, that is a
BC-specific reference to a forestry company that was actually bought
out eleven years ago by another forestry company. Deal with it.
