As I am now revealing for the third year running, Athar and Elisa
are real Massey alumni; they also appeared in the comics that ran
on August 23, 2008, and
September 5, 2009. In
2008, Athar won a West of
Bathurst cameoin the Massey talent auction (proceeds
go to various charities); he asked that Elisa be included. In
2009, Elisa won the cameo. In 2010, I can't even remember
which of them won. Every year, they just keep on bidding
until everybody else drops out. They have been on the character page for a year now (incidentally, I plan to update it by Monday). This third appearance cements their status as actual characters. Athar and Elisa are awesome, incidentally. Welcome to Massey, new Junior Fellows. May you never procrastinate for any reason whatsoever. That would be bad. And wrong. Like puppies. |

| Panel 1: In
the title panel of this Sunday-style colour comic, Marie smirks at a
clapboard with "West of Bathurst by Kari Maaren" written on it. Panel 2: Elisa and Athar are talking to the camera. Elisa: Hi...I'm Elisa. Athar: And I'm Athar. Elisa: We're Davies alumni. Athar: Welcome to the college. Panel 3: Elisa: Once again, we've been asked to praise Davies with great praise, purely for your edification. Athar: It's all getting a bit repetitive. Panel 4: Elisa: I suppose we really could just say good things about the college. Athar: Ooh...let's do that. Panel 5: Elisa: Davies is full of happy smiling people who are never behind in their work. Athar: This is because every Junior Fellow bleeds rainbows. Panel 6: Elisa: No one here would ever procrastinate for any reason whatsoever. Athar: That would be bad. And wrong. Like puppies. Panel 7: Elisa drops a single tear. Athar clasps her hands in his. Elisa: I want to hug a puppy. Athar: Someday, we shall experience that mysterious property known as "free time," and puppies will be hugged. Panel 8: Elisa: Come to Davies, where every day is Candy Day. Athar: We are completely sincere and would never ever lie to you. Wink. Panel 9: Frankie, who has been filming all this, glares at Elisa and Athar. Baldwin and Marie are behind her. Marie: No, really, guys: find someone else for the welcome video. Baldwin: That would be bad. And wrong. Like puppies. Alt-Text: Or possibly even kittens. Go to commentary |
