The comic continues to be dedicated to Donna Vakalis this week. We all need to cheer for her on August 12th! Yay!

Go read the melancholy announcement if you haven't already. I know many of you have, so I'll stop mentioning it after today.

If you blinked and missed the anniversary comic, you will find it here (or via the Miscellaneous and Archive pages). You will also find a trivia contest at the bottom of the anniversary comic's page; you have until Thursday at noon EDT to send me the answer. I've had only one entry thus far, and that was from someone who didn't want the prize, so you have a good chance of winning your very own Shiny Object. Hint: the comic you're looking for is from 2007, and the cryptic storyline titles in the Archive may actually help you a little.

I'm up to40,161 words written for the Write-a-Thon, meaning that I've exceeded my goal (30,000). If you click on my word count, it will take you to a page that will ask you for money. It will also tell you my word count again. Yes, I am continuing to write (why not?).

Panel 3:

Rahim: Wait a minute. Modern pentathlon includes four contests?

Marie: Yep.

Panel 4:

Rahim: My brain does not accept that.

Marie: But Big Brother says that two plus two is pent.
